Mrs. Bessie Edens Andrews of 4834 Long Leaf Hills Drive died Friday night in New Hanover Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Andrews was born in Wilmington on March 28, 1883, and was the daughter of the late Charles and Josie Mills Edens. She was a member of the Windermere Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Leon F. Andrews, Sr., of the home, two sons, Leon F. Andrews, Jr. of Charlotte, NC and James L. Andrews of Wilmington; four daughters, Mrs, M. J. Broughton and Mrs. W.P. Williamson, both of Wilmington, Miss Norma Joyce Andrews adn Miss Jeannine Andrews both of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Percy L. Andrews of Sloop Point and Mrs. J. N. Sanders of Wilmington, one brother James F. Edens of Sneads Ferry, NC, seven grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Andrews Mortuary. the Rev. Graham McChesney and the Rev. D. C. Jenkins will officiate. burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Herman Sanders, Ace Potter, Tommy Groves, James Edens, Jr., Gene Edens and John Weston.
