Jake Thomas Bius
MOULTRIE — Jake Thomas Bius, 76, of Cumming, Ga., formerly of Moultrie, died July 5, 2008, at Northside Forsyth Hospital in Cumming.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at Harrell–Faircloth Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ron Rucker and the Rev. William "Buddy" Reynolds officiating.

Interment will follow in Rose of Sharon Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 1, 1932, in Colquitt County, to the late Jake Thomas Bius Sr. and Minona Hortman Bius.

He was a Navy veteran and retired from IBM after 32 years of service and then pursued mission work.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandy Bius Waidler; and three brothers, Vernon Bius, Albert Bius and John Bius.

The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at Harrell–Faircloth Funeral Home.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to the Jake Bius Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 2201, Cumming, GA 30028.

Jake married Betty Jo Blackwell June 7 1952 in Atlanta Ga. Jake retired in 1987 from IBM and became a professor at Valdosta State College for two years. From 1990 and until his death, he and wife Betty had either been attending school, ie: Rhema Bible Training School, or they had been full time volunteers for Christian organizations. They were on the staff for two years at the University of the Nations in Kona, Hawaii which during that time they had short term assignments in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, China and Vietnam.
