Julia Elizabeth Buttrick, 97, of Lake City, Iowa died Saturday, September 18, 1976 at the Stewart Memorial Hospital at Lake City.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 21 at the Woodlawn Christian Church with the Rev. Chris Nettles officiating. Burial was in the Lake City Cemetery under the direction of the Huffman Memorial Chapel.

Julia Elizabeth Buttrick, a daughter of John Henry and Cynthia Curnutt Conner was born on November 11, 1878 in Fortesque, Missouri and they came to Lake City in 1903. She was a member of the Woodlawn Christian church, the Star Rebekah Lodge for over 50 years and a 50 year member of the Lake City Garden Club.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Tubbs of Lake City and Mrs. Lillian Bullinger of Denver, Colo.;one son, John Henry Buttrick of Sioux City; two brothers, Curtis Conner of Kansas City, Mo. and George Conner of Springfield Mo.; one sister Mrs. Marie Edwards of Keytesville, MO. Also surviving are three three step-children, Harold Whitted of Lake View, Dean Whitted of Portland, Oregon, Elton Acklin of Illinois; four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one great-granddaughter, one daughter, nine brothers and sisters, one step-son and one step-daughter.

Honorary casket bearers were Mason Ross, William Lovett and Vern Matthews. Casket bearers were Harold Strickland, Martin DeVries, T. C. Tibbitts, Earl Lasher, A. L. Redenius and Frank Bristol.

Note: Julia was married first to Ed Buttrick, 2nd to Charles Whitted.
