Jonathan Bixler died this morning at 1 o'clock, of dropsy, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Phraener [sic], on New Street. He was 78 years old, and for many years was employed as a caretaker of St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Seven children, Mrs. Martin Boyer, near Sunny Side; Mrs. Adam Arnold, Halfway; Ambrose Bixler, Hartville, O.; Mrs. Frank Phraener, with whom he lived; Mrs. Theodore Arnold, Sand Hill; Jerome Bixler, this city, and Harry Bixler, Reading, survive him, as do also a brother, Benjamin Bixler, of Bowmandale, Cumberland County, and a sister, Mrs. Caroline Oxenreider, Hamlin.
