He pitched just one scoreless inning in relief the following year and waited until 1951 to get into 21 games, all but one from the bullpen. He was 0-1 with a 6.46 ERA that year. He was sold to Cincinnati on May 25, 1952 and made nine relief appearances for the Reds with no decisions and a 6.46 ERA. For his career he was 1-1 with a 5.59 ERA.
