Mrs. Calidonia (Callie) Bennett, 93, a former resident of Kingsport, died at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Ellicott City, Md., after a long illness.
She was born in Ashe County, N.C., and was a member of the Howard Hill Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters: Mrs. G. H. (Villar) Manis and Mrs. Leonard (Artis) Cross, both of Ellicott City, and Mrs. Ollie Cross, Kingsport; sons, Millard, Surgoinsville; Chogle, West Jefferson, N. C., and Dewitt Bennett, Kingsport; 47 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Carter's Chapel Funeral Home is in Charge of funeral arrangements.

Funeral services for Calidonia (Callie) Bennett, age 93, who died in Ellicott City, Maryland, Wednesday will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cole Springs Freewill Baptist Church (Gravely Community) with the Rev. Harmond Overby officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will remain at Carter's Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. The body will be taken to the church one hour before services. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Carter's Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
