Samuel & Janemia (sic) were among the first settlers of Morrow County. In the "History of Morrow County and Ohio Illustrated 1880" Book by O L Baskin & Co Historical Publishers 1880, pg 291: "Part No 5 - In 1823, James Bailey and Samuel Straw, from Pennsylvania, settled on Section 6."
Page 426: "A church of this denomination (Presbyterians) was established in the western part of the township in 1831. The first memebers were Lodwie, Lewis, Francis and Abram Hardenbrook, Alfred Bennett, John Forgy, Sr., James Foot, Samuel Straw, Daniel Moody, John and Robert Stockdale, Thomas Morrison and their wives, Nancy Stockdale, and Elsie Cornell."
