Minnie Ruth was born, raised, and lived in the Prairie View community her entire life. She was married to Luther Melvin "Bud" Ballew on May 16, 1942 in Clinton, Oklahoma. They made their home in the country near Canute where she enjoyed baking banana bread and cinnamon bread for her family and friends. She was an ombudsman for over 23 years and she worked for the Clinton Regional Hospital for a period of time.
She was preceded in death by her husband, mother and one sister, Marie Edwards.
She is survived by two children, Gene Ballew and wife, Cherryl of Kansas City, MO, Tom Ballew and wife, Donna of Bowie, TX, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one sister, Wilma Faye White, Elk City, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Canute First Methodist Church. Burial will be at Canute Cemetery under the direction of Whinery Funeral Service.
