She was born at her grandma Nettie Fellows house and her grandma delivered her. She was registered nurse and nurses aide in several nursing homes and in home care. She liked crocheting and flowers. She had a green thumb like her mom. She enjoyed bead crafts and yard sales. She enjoyed having lunch with her sisters once a week til she moved to Va. I asked her one time how she got the name Auntie. She said when i was little, i couldn't say Clarice, and called her Auntie. From then on all her nieces and nephews called her Auntie. She got saved when she got older and excepted the Lord as her personnel savior. She had alzheimers for a couple years and for the past few months had started forgetting her family. She was in a nursing home for about a month before she passed away. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a loving daughter, wife, mom, sister, aunt and grandma. She is loved and will be missed very much.
Clarice Ruth Burdette, 88, of Christiansburg, formerly of Frederick, Md., passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013. She was born in Salamanca N.Y. to the late Clair and Ruth Fellows. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Burdette; a daughter, Tina Burdette; a sister Annette Fellows and a brother, Earl Fellows.
She is survived by her children, William Strange, Alan Grise, Edward Burdette, and Janet Burdette Hall; siblings, Kathryn Morgan, Nancy Wolfe, Leslie Fellows, and Robert Fellows; as well as other extended family and friends.
There will be a memorial service at a later date in Frederick, Md. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Clarice's name to , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Online condolences may be left by visiting www.hornefuneralservice.com.
