Arthur C. Adams, 85, formerly of Manchester, died at 5:29 a.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2005, at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Anna L. (Brown) Adams for 61 years. Born July 13, 1920, in York Haven, he was a son of the late Henry N. and Bessie M. (Witmer) Adams. He had been employed at Cole Steel in York for 31 years. He was a member of CasselConewago CMA Church, and Mt. Wolf VFW Post #2493. He was an avid bowler at Colony Park East. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, and received the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one Bronze Star. In addition to his wife, Mr. Adams is survived by four daughters, Millie Y. Cassell and Pat E. Redding, both of Manchester, and Sharon A. Wantz and Jo Jennings, both of York; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray Adams of York; and a sister, Helen Overlander of York. Funeral Thursday at William E. Little Funeral Homes, Manchester, Rev. Chet Musser officiating. Burial in Mount Rose Cemetery, with military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. [York Daily REcord]
