STARR — John Wesley Adams Jr., 71, husband of Elizabeth Jones Adams of 117 Hicks Drive, Starr, died Thursday, March 24, 2005, at the Anderson Area Medical Center in Anderson.

Born in Starr, he was the son of the late John Wesley Adams and Bursie Arzona Nichols Adams. He was retired from Clark Schwebel and was a member of Gethesmane Baptist Temple.

Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Eddie Adams of Jonesville; Christie Wilkerson, Darlene Shetley, both of Union, David Spurlin of Starr, Roger Spurlin of Boiling Springs, Kathy Miller of Anderson, and Janice White of Gaffney; sisters, Dot Saxon of Anderson, Christine Hicks of Starr, Mildred Gordon of Anderson and Betty Aiken of Liberty; 17 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Union Memorial Gardens in Union by the Rev. Sam Duncan. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home tonight from 6 until 8.

The family will be the residence.

The McDougald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
