Services for Helen Becton, 83, of Becton will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Idalou United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Willborn officiating and Rev. John Burk assisting.

Burial will be in Becton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home in Lorenzo.

She died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at Promiseland Personal Care Center in Shallowater.

She was born Sept. 15, 1917, in Choctaw County, Okla. She moved to Becton as a child and was a graduate of Becton High School. She married Joe B. Becton on Nov. 3, 1935, in Becton. He preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 1996.

She was a member of Idalou United Methodist Church, where she was in the Wesley Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Civic Culture Club in Idalou, and active in the Open Heart Club. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include three sons, Joe Dale of Marble Falls, Jim of Idalou, and Jerry of Plainview; a daughter, Polly Wampler of Lubbock; a brother, Jim Jones of Boulder City, N.D.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
