Betty Jean Bolt Wade Alderman, 82 of Floyd, passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2012. Betty Jean was preceded in death by her parents J. Kyle and Dollie Kemp Bolt; brothers & sisters Lilis Vaughn, Opal McPeak, Freeda Bolt, Vivian Gay Bolt, Glen Bolt, Hasten Bolt, Truman Bolt, K. Venson Bolt, James Edward Bolt; father of her children Max Wade; and husband Melvin Alderman.

Betty Jean was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was happiest when she was with her family; loving and supporting them all. Her faith in Jesus Christ gave her strength.

In her younger years she was an excellent seamstress; designing and making clothes for family and friends. She had a talent for decorating and her home was always immaculate.

The last three years of her life she lived at Skyline Nursing and Rehab. During that time she developed precious relationships with staff and visitors. We, her family, could not be with her all of the time so we are comforted in knowing that many kindnesses and much care was given to her while there.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Dennis (Brenda) Wade of Pearisburg, Bobby Wade of Floyd; daughters, Alisa (Gary) Boothe of Floyd, Debra Wade (Roger Marshall) of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Melissa Reed, Kim Wade, Joli Huynh, Chris Weddle, Ryan Weddle, Kendall Gardner and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roy Turpin officiating. Interment to follow in Topeco Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec.18, 2012 at the Funeral Home.
