Glenn was my next-door neighbor and a good friend. He was always there to help out in any way he could. He loved old cars and owned a 1960 Thunderbird and a 1948 Nash sedan. He also owned a Jaguar. Glenn had heart problems for years and had stints done a few times. He died suddenly, on the job, of a heart attack. He had said, he did not want to die in a hospital.

A short story: several years ago, we had a small leak around the chimney in our roof. A neighbor said he could fix it for $65.00. The next morning, I heard someone on the roof and thought it was him. Glenn had heard about the leak and brought a friend with him and they fixed it. I told him that I had set aside $65.00 for the other neighbor to do it and since he got there first, I'd give him the money. Glenn said he did it to help a neighbor, not for any money. I told him I would feel better if I payed him. He said, "Okay! Give me $10.00 to cover the bucket of tar that we used." That was Glenn. He was always helping.
