Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am Harla Jean Bateman Wallace "Jean", daughter of Harley Dean Bateman and Ruth Green Bateman. I was born in 1941 in Abilene, TX, Taylor Co. and married Billy Dan Wallace "Bill" (born in 1938) in 1958. We have a son, Curtis Lee "Curt" (1959) and a daughter, Janet Maurine "Jan" (1963). They are both married and each have a daughter and a son which gives us 4 beautiful grandchildren. Our oldest grandchild married in 2006 and now we have a wonderful grandson-in-law to add to our family.
Bill and I have been doing our family history research for about 20+ years and usually do our own families but at times we help each other with theirs too. For the most part, we enjoy genealogy but then there are those infernal "brick walls" now and then. If you are visiting my part of this site and see some information in it that you know is wrong or you can add to, please contact me by e-mail. I would appreciate any help any one can give me.
If I find an obituary in the newspaper that has good information in it I will add it in because although I don't know those people I think it is good to add it for those who need that info. I don't do it for the numbers. I hate this numbers system. If I have added someone you need and can prove close relationship to, I will be glad to add whatever info you want added or even transfer it to you.

Linzy Wallace Coleman, Jr.

I added photos of this gravesite.

The Cub Scout notation had stood out on my previous visit to this cemetery.

I'll see if I can find an obituary.

Can you link his parents?

A E Williams
Jean, I noticed that you had placed a note on my grandfather's memorial stating he was born in Panola Co (Carthage). According to our family Bible records, my grandmother (his wife - Ollie Bateman Williams) says that her husband was born in Nacogdoches County. Yes, his father (Thomas Benjamin Williams) was from Panola Co but family records states Alvie was born in Nacogdoches.

Eddie Bateman 1872-?
Do you have any or Eddie Bateman? He was a son of James J. Bateman and Sarah Ann Barber. His wife re-married and then had another child that may or may not have been Eddies. Any info on hen/where/how Eddie died is much appreciated! Thanks!

Jean, here is a copy of the message you left for me on Find-a-grave. I don't know what you needed.
I understand your frustration. I have the same problem with not being able to walk or stand too long. You are blessed that your husband can help you. My husband has spinal stenosis so he is more immobile than me. We have just decided to do what we can and not worry about the other things. I just presumed you had found what you wanted to ask me.
Take care. Linda

Bessie Irene Green Holland
you can add John Aubrey Holland Sr. as a child of Bessie Irene Green Holland and Raymond Franklin Holland. John was my uncle. He died in December of 2008 and is buried in the bangs Cemetery with my grandparents. I am the granddaughter of Raymond and Bessie and the daughter of their youngest daughter Wanda Jean Holland Middleton. They also have a son buried in Brownwood. His name was Lonnie Merle Holland and he died in January of 1988. I am sorry but I cannot remember the name of the cemetery.

Zachariah Philpott b. 1758
On the grave of Zachariah Philpott b. 1758, there are flowers and note that states: Zachariah Philpott, Sr. was born Dec 20, 1758 in Charles Co. MD. He died Nov 9, 1836 in Cumberland Co. Ky. He was the 4th son and the 5th child of John T. Philpott and Mary E. Keech Glover Philpott. He married Cassandra Garrett Philpott, daughter of John Garrett and Mary Glover Garrett. They married Dec 3, 1781 in Frederick Co. MD.

I am trying to point out that records reflect that John Garrett was married to Margaret Baker per marriage records. I do not know where the Mary Glover Garrett (married to John Garrett) came from... I thought you and Roots & Branches were one and the same person and I sent this note to them in error...

I am sorry about that! I am now sending a note to you, who left the flowers and note... Deb
