Hello Bobby & Faye: I believe I have found the graveyard where this soldier is buried. His wife's [Rebecca Ousley] stone is there as well as some 20 + other graves. This is called the Campbell cemetery. It is an abandoned and unmarked graveyard. I found it this past summer on Wilks Chapel Road, on the Hartsville Ruby SC highway. the GPS W80 5' 40.692" N34 32' 4.709".
It is not on Find A Grave and I am trying to find a way to put it on Find A Grave. so I can post the gravestones I photographed.

Robert Cook, Cheraw, SC
I noticed you now manage the above memorial. Were you related to Robert. I am trying to trace my Cook ancestors, which was a large number of siblings from two mothers, one in the Cheraw area and the other in the Blaney area of SC. I have identified Ollie and Samuel Lewis, who had several brother and sisters, one of which was Robert in either Cheraw or Lancaster.
Any help appreciated.

More family
Could I please have ownership of William Duncan Steen and Ada Matilda Steen's children transferred to me? I am trying to build my husband's family tree.

Grace Hancock
Thank you for the information on Grace Hancock. I was taken back at first that she was a Hancock who had married a Hancock. The obituary is appreciated, but I no longer list living relatives to memorials (per Find A Grave rules).

Find A Grave Memorial# 116293848
I think this Ida Wells could be the same Estelle Johnson Wells that I have been looking for.In her daughters (Fannie Wells Stratton)obit it listed her mother as Estelle Johnson Wells and in my grandfather Obit as Mrs. Estelle Wells of Darlington.I also found her listed in the 1910 census as Leila Johnson. If this is the same person who is my grandfathers sister. I think her full name could have been Leila Estelle Johnson and maybe Ida was a nick name.I have been insearch for my grandfathers family for what seems like forever. My grandfather died when my father was 10 and I don't think there was much contact with his fathers family after his death,so there was not much information passed down.I hope you will be able to help.
Best Regards,
Susan Johnson Jeffcoat

Thank you for the information. I use obits only for personal information but this is very helpful and will help with some other research. I have a picture of the graves from this section on another computer and will try to find and post it.

Phil Whittle
James and Addie Grooms Johnson's children
Hello Bobby and Faye: I discovered an error. The Melvin Johnson buried at Cedar Creek that is listed as a child of James Tillman Johnson (96433009) and Addie Grooms Johnson (96432855) is not the correct Melvin Johnson. They did have a son Melvin Johnson (99638086) but he is buried at New Providence with his wife Sally Ellis Johnson (99638163). Melvin and Sally's son Roy and Roy's wife Cookie are also buried at New Providence. Melvin's brother Tillman "Cig" and wife Ada Gainey Johnson are also buried at New Providence. The oldest child of James Tillman and Addie Grooms Johnson is Ida Mae Johnson Griggs and she is buried at Cedar Creek. Ida Mae was my maternal grandmother. I will have to check but I don't know who are the parents of the Melvin Johnson that is buried at Cedar Creek. Phil Whittle cell 843-858-2473

Hello! Wow, you have been busy. Thank you ever so much for all the grave markers for my family. I am extremely grateful. I have made room to receive Joseph Butler's (my grandfather) grave images. Again, thank you both so much for your time and effort.
