RE: Setliff - Boyce
I am very interested in pursuing further this second Boyce-Setliff connection. Do you have a tree on If so, perhaps we could exchange invitations to compare our Setliff-Boyce lines. My user name on Ancestry is MyraLSBR.

I do have some information on Aunt Marline's husband's family. Are you aware that Aunt Marline's husband Marshall A "Buck" Boyce had children by a previous marriage? At one time, some of the Boyce children lived with my parents.

May I ask for you & your parents' names and information to get you all located on the Setliff tree? If you like, you may send me messages through Ancestry or my email: [That's a Q in the middle].

I'm eager to hear from you further.

Setliff Cousin?
I think we are related. My father was Hubert Setliff. He had a sister Marline who married a Boyce. Are you one of their grandsons? Would love to visit with you. My email is I have been out-of-touch with my Boyce cousins for a number of years. Would love to get news of them again.

Transfers are available for as far back as great grandparents only. Looking at this particular memorial I see already several others leaving flowers closer kin then 3 great as you are.

I will be more then happy to add whatever you feel needs to be added for improvement.

Hi again
If John hadnt had the pic made of your Ancestors father and mothers headstone , I wouldnt of known where they may have been laid to rest, and the fact that there was an empty part with no headstone showing got me thinking .

I have done other areas with pics like that with flowers set in where there werent markers to show, because of covered up with grass and dirt along time ,when the office people say a grave was there .
A lot of the historical sections in the cemetery I noticed new headtones have been set where old crumbled ones have set.

You will have to add the father to the son you have on. I can not add the son.

RE: Anna Setliff Schafer
Sorry, I don't know if she has a headstone. It's a massive cemetery & the office, I'm told, isn't very helpful with locating graves. If you could get any information from them I could look.

I'm always happy to transfer memorials to family members. I just finished Anna's transfer to you.

Setliff/Springhill Nashville Tn.

I'm sorry to not have been able to help in your request. Could the location you have be incorrect? If you have any other theories, let me know and I'll try again. It is a very old section.

"We searched the entire section, several times. There are many empty plots or unmarked graves. there are no missing parts od markers or grave depression areas. On the immediate left of Rev. Hunter is a large marker for J. H. Stites, born 27 Jul 1875, died 28 Jul 1896. It sets on one of the lots listed for Setliff?"

you dont pay
It would be the people like myself who would have to pay the office there to get a location of interments so we could take the pics, not the familys who call for the locations like yourself.

I am saying that up untill last year I had been going to Spring Hill and asking for locations of the names that members request pics for ,
But the top ones in the office in the funeral home where I got the locations from said that if I was not a relative they would not get the location for me because they were always very busy with family members that had relatives in there . Thats why they were going to charge me or others who didnt .
So if you are a relative and you may live out of state and you call and ask for the location in the cemetery of your loved one , they will give you the location , and then you can put the location in the request for members like me to search in the right place .
Actually when they were giveing me locations , they were also makeing a copy of a section map with the deceased names on so that when I was going to that section I could also see who might me nearest that family , and it would make it easier for me to find the headstones . Because alot of headstones in or near the Historical section may not be eligeable to read and or the headstones may not even be there even tho the cemetery says they are interred there.
And also while I was there , and in a section that was not historical ,some of the 2007 and earlier headstones that are flat seem to be getting covered up from the grass and dirt alot when the grounds workers work out there cutting grass.

Spring Hill Cemetery
I am one of the people that use to take up requests for Spring Hill Cemetery up till 2011.
Now If there are any pic requests for this Cemetery from Findagrave members , you may have to call the Funeral Home Office and ask for the locations of any requests you need, and this cemetery where ,I was doing pic requests before, will ask for 5 dollars from non-familys for the locations, but if you are from a different state or far away they may not charge you .
This started in 2011 I believe. Which alot of pic takers for the requests are not too happy about.

So, If you get a location for your request there please put it in the requests from Spring Hill cemetery
