Kenneth W. Brainerd, 55, died February 24, 1966 at his Washington Street, Castile home. He was born May 15, 1910 in Gainesville the son of William and Anna Brainerd. He was a Rochester School of Commerce graduate. He joined the National Guard in 1930 and served on active duty with the 101st Cavalry Division from 1941 to 1945 taking part in the battle of Rhine. He served as Wyoming County deputy treasurer, business manager of Letchworth Central Schools, insurance agent, and employee of Russ Hurlburt Auction Firm. He leaves his widow, Berneice Wood Brainerd; three daughters, Mary Ellen, Susan and Evelyn at home; his mother Anna Brainerd. Masonic and funeral services were held at Harmon Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Embling.
