Roy was the son of Alexander S. Bryant and Mary Fullerton.

Roy's first marriage was to Rebecca 'Sis' E. Shepherd on 28 Jan 1900 at Alpine, Clark Co, AR. They had the following seven children:
Mamie L. Bryant-Thomason (1901-1931)
Monroe L. Bryant (1902-1913)
Flora Bell Bryant-Lane (1904-1984)
John Louis 'Bill' Bryant (1909-1967)
Essie Mae Bryant-Davis (1914-1972)
Lettie Mae Bryant-Dollar (1914-1997)
Jessie J. 'Doc' Bryant (1919-1996)

Essie and Lettie were twins.

Roy's second marriage was to Alice Daniel.
