DAVIS RITES HELD MONDAY
Mrs. Essie Mae Davis, 57, of Happy, died about 4:45 p.m. Friday in Swisher Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Tulia Assembly of God Church with Rev. R. A. Staggs, pastor, and Rev. Bob Goodwin, Lubbock, former pastor, officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery with Wallace Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born May 14, 1914 in Arkansas, she married Earl Davis Dec. 23, 1937 in Bonham. She moved to Swisher County in 1955 from Childress.
She was a member of the Assembly of God church.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband; three sons, Jimmy Davis and Bennie Davis of Plainview and Glen Davis of Tulia; two daughters, Mrs. Rita Burns of Ft. Worth; and Darlene Davis of Happy; a brother, Jessie Bryant of Gober; two sisters, Mrs. Flora Lane of Chula Vista, Calif., and Mrs. Lettie Dollar of Glenwood, Ark., and six grandchildren.
