Charlotte A. Aasan, 41, a resident of Clarkston and waitress at Santiago's La Casa restaurant in Lewiston, died Monday evening at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center of Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, which is known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Mrs. Aasen had worked at Santiago's since 1981. She and her husband moved to Clakrston in 1974 following his construction work after living in various other Western States.

The daughter of Orville and Delores Kelley, she was born on Sept. 4, 1945, at Fort Benton, Mont. She grew up and attended schools there, graduating in1963.

On Jan. 4, 1945, she married James A. Aasen at Fort Benton. He survives at the family home.

She enjoyed sewing and gardening and was one of Jehova's Witnesses.

Surviving in addition to her husband, James, are four daughters, Cindy Aasen, Becky Aasen, Becky Assen, Tonya Aasen, and Jessica Aasen, all of Clarkton, one son, James Aasen, Jr. of Clarkston, Her parents, Orville and Delores Kelley of Gillette, Wyo.; five sisters, Frances, Drube, Lorali Sheppard, Colleen Hayden, Yvonne Cropping and Michelle Kelley, all of Gillette; four brothers, Donald Kelley of Douglas, Wyo.; Orville Kelley, Jr. of Billings, Mont.; Bruce Kelley of Mesa, Ariz.; and Brian Kelley of Gillette.
