Violet Louise Pedigo, 87, of Petersburg, passed away on Friday December 31, 2010 at Menard Convalescent Center. She was born on December 28, 1923 in Virginia, IL to Bryan and Ida Sherren Knowles. She married Harry Pedigo on June 5, 1943 in Palmyra, MO. He passed away in 1979.

She is survived by two daughters, Judith (James W.) Thomas of Petersburg, and Mildred McHenry of Springfield; a sister, Bernice �Tiny� Anderson of Beardstown; a step brother, Fred Knowles of Pekin; and five grandchildren, Ruth Gillmore, Allan Gleason, Ricky Gleason, Bobby Gillmore, and Micheal Gleason.

Her parents, husband, one grandson, one granddaughter, two sisters, and three brothers preceded her in death.

She had worked as a cook for 20 years.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Oakford Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to her family to assist with funeral expenses.
