Pfc. U.S. Army, {RA26346418}, Korean War-Pfc. Knowles was killed in action by small arms fire on 4-24-1951 while serving as a Light Weapons Infantryman {04745} with Co. C of the 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division.

The body was claimed by a Mr. James H. Massie of Cass County, Illinois, and is a 1946 graduate of the Cass County School System, and he enlisted with the Army on April 27, 1950.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal with One Service Star, United Nations Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation, Korean War Service Medal.
