HAGERSTOWN, Md., June 27. - Lorenzo Barber, aged 78 years, died today as the result of being prostrated by the heat while walking in the yard at his home in this city.

Mr. Lorenzo Barber, a former citizen, put in an appearance on Monday evening. He was accompanied by his wife. Mr. Barber possesses wonderful vigor and vitality for a man nearly 75 years old. He left his home in Hagerstown about a month ago, and after traveling nearly four thousand miles returns as freak and bright as when he started. His objective point was Oklahoma Territory to visit his son Windsor, who owns a farm there, with all necessary improvements. On their return they spent severall days at Chicago enjoying the sights a the World's Fair from there to Detroit, Mich., and across the river to Windsor, Canada, where they took a train direct for Niagara Falls, then to Philadelphia and Baltimore. They returned to their home in Hagerstown yesterday after a pleasant visit to their old home here.
