Mrs. Bailiff, 80, Dies at Haskell
HASKELL, Aug. 5. (RNS) — Mrs. A. C. Bailiff, 80, who moved back to Haskell from Merkel two weeks ago, died of a heart ailment In the Haskell Hospital at 5 a.m. Wednesday. She had been in ill health 12 years.
Funeral will be held at the Holden Funeral Chapel here at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. John Barry, pastor of the First Christian Church of Haskell, and the Rev. James A. Crites, pastor of the Rule Christian Church, will conduct. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery here.
Mrs. Bailiff had been a member of the Christian Church since 1915.
She was born July 26, 1873 at Garland, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. Z. Harris. She was married to Mr. Bailiff in Dallas County Dec. 11. 1898.
The Bailiffs moved from Dallas County to Haskell in 1915, and from here to Merkel in 1938. They lived there until two weeks ago.
Surviving are her husband, a retired farmer; three sons, H. K. Bailiff of Rule, G. D. of Fort Worth and William W. of Abilene; two daughters, Mrs. R. M. Ivey of Fort Worth and Mrs. M. C. Hallmark of San Diego, Calif.; 17 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Her grandsons will act as pallbearers.
