Robert Edwin Fitzhugh, was born on Tuesday, April 8, 1924 in Greenville, Kentucky to his Parents; Duke Bowden Fitzhugh, and Annie "Anna" Lucile Corley Fitzhugh.

He was blessed with one older sister named, Helen Lee Fitzhugh Scott.

In the year of 1926, his father, Duke divorced his Mother, Lucille.

In the year of 1929, his Father, Duke married a woman by the name of Duera Lee Whitaker Fitzhugh.

He was a 1942 Graduate of Muhlenberg Central High School.

On Friday, January 15, 1943 Robert enlisted in the Army from the state of Indiana to serve in World War II, but a week before he was to leave for the War, he was granted medical leave and this reason remains unknown.

In the year of 1953 he moved to Evansville, Indiana. While there he was briefly married, and he became the Father to a daughter named, Barbara.

From the year 1954 to the year of 1986 he worked for the Fitzhugh Dental Laboratory; which he proudly founded.

He met his future wife Bette Frances Pratt Fitzhugh in the year of 1959 through mutual friends. He and Bette married on Friday, July 1, 1960 in Williamson County, Tennessee. They remained married for thirty-six years till his passing.

On Wednesday February 17, 1965 their only Child, Patrick was born.

In the year of June 1963 he and his wife bought a lake front house on Kentucky Lake in Waverly Tennessee, and they spent many weekends there relaxing, fishing, and spending time with their family and friends.

Robert, loved to fish and do anything while outdoors. He also loved his job very much.

In his later years, he and his Wife Bette spent many weekends at their lake house in Waverly, Tennessee. They also spent a lot of time traveling and they made many trips to Mexico.

He and Bette were very loving and proud Grandparents to two girls. The first who was born in the year of 1989, and the second who was born in the year of 1995.

In September of 1995, Robert was diagnosed with Cancer starting in his liver, which then spread to his brain, and to other parts of his body.

Robert, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 1996 at the Meadows Nursing Home in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of only 72 years old.

He chose to donate his body to Vanderbilt University, for science studies. On June 2, 1996 a Memorial Service was held in honor of Robert's life at the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home and Gene Loveless officiated the service. On Saturday, June 20, 1998 his ashes were returned to his family and they were buried next to his wife, Bette at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens in the Garden of Atonement.

Robert, is missed very much by is family, and he will forever be greatly missed.
