Bette Frances Pratt Fitzhugh, was born in Robertson County, Tennessee on Wednesday, January 9, 1924 to her Parents; Bailey Warefield Pratt, and Hattie Ola Watts Pratt.

She was blessed with three wonderful and loving sisters; June, Annette Pratt Shepard, and Bailey Ruth Pratt Campbell.

As, a child she and her family attended Martin's Chapel United Methodist Church, and they were very dynamic in the community.

She graduated high school from Coopertown High School in the year of 1943, and she went on to attend and graduated College in the year of 1947 from Middle Tennessee State University.

She met her future husband Robert Edwin Fitzhugh in the year of 1959 through mutual friends. She and Robert married in Williamson County, Tennessee on Friday, July 1, 1960. They remained married for thirty-six years. They were blessed with one son, Patrick who was born on Wednesday, February 17, 1965. Before, their son, Patrick was born, Bette was diagnosed with an enlarged heart, and during the birth of Patrick her Doctors did not know if she would live through the childbirth. Thankfully, she did make it through the childbirth and she was a wonderful Mother to Patrick.

In June of the year 1963 she and her husband purchased a lake front house on Kentucky Lake in Waverly, Tennessee. They spent many happy weekends at the lake house relaxing, fishing, and spending time with their family and friends.

For her daily work, she he was an insurance agent, but quit working in the year of 1968, when she decided to stay home with her son Patrick.

She loved cooking, and spending time with her loved ones. She also loved playing the piano, and had learned to play the piano at the age of 12 years old. She liked listing to classical music and she could play many songs on the piano.

In her later years of life, she and her husband Robert spent many weekends at their lake house in Waverly, Tennessee. They also spent a lot of time traveling and they made many trips to Mexico.

She and Robert were the loving and proud Grandparents of two girls. The first who was born in the year of 1989, and second who was born in the year of 1995. Bette, really loved spoiling her Granddaughters, and spending time with them.

A catastrophe, battered Bette and her family when her husband, Robert was diagnosed with Cancer in September of the year of 1995. The Cancer quickly spread all over his body. Sadly, on Sunday, May 25, 1996 the Cancer took Robert away. After, Robert's passing Bette moved out of their Nashville home, and moved closer to her younger sister, Bailey Ruth. She continued to go on and live her life, spending more time with her family, spoiling her Granddaughters, and playing the piano until her passing.

Bette, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 12, 1998. When she passed away her son, Patrick and his wife Pamela, and her sisters, June and Bailey Ruth by her side at the Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. She was only 74 years old, and her cause of death was believe to have been Cardiac Arrest.

Her Visitation and Funeral Service were both held at the Roesch-Patton Austin Bracey Funeral Home in Nashville, TN. The Funeral Service was conducted on Wednesday, April 15, 1998 and following the service she was laid to rest at the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens in the Garden of Atonement. Dr. Farris Moore officiated the service. Pallbearers were; George Reynolds, Mark Pratt, Paul Bracey, Dr. Gary Owen, Bill Bradley, and Dr. Thomas Underwood.

Over all she lived a very happy and joyous life. She is very missed by her family and she will always be greatly remembered.
