HANNIBAL - Jimmie B. Bannister, 76, of Mexico, died at 9 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2002, at Boone Hospital in Columbia.

Funeral services for Mr. Bannister will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at the Farber Christian Church. Burial will be at Farber Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of services Tuesday at the church.

Mr. Bannister was born Sept. 23, 1925, in Monroe City, to Thomas L. and Laura Belle Brown Bannister. He was first married to Darlene Woodhurst and she preceded him in death on Aug. 24, 1985. He then was married to Patsy Shoemate Blake. She survives.

Other survivors include one step son, Alan Blake of Mexico. He was a long-time resident of the area.

For 37 years he worked in maintenance at the North American Refractory in Farber. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Farber Christian Church.

Pallbearers will be Gary Stubblefield, Billy Joe Heaston, Richard Greenplate, P.A. Hull, Roger Green and Charlie Bill Crow. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Stubblefield, Vince Kampeter and Vernon Terry.

Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Foundation. The Wilkey Funeral Home in Center is in charge of arrangements.
