Mrs. Adolphine Schubert Kohn, pioneer resident of Las Vegas and one of the community's most respected citizens, died at Las Vegas Hospital this afternoon. She was 78 years old.
Mrs. Kohn had been a resident of Las Vegas since 1900.
She was a teacher in the city schools for more than 30 years, having organized the first orchestra and choir in the schools.
She was widely known in the music circles of the state and was past president of the Federated Music Clubs of New Mexico.
Johnsen Memorial Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Adolpine served as the organist and choir director at the First Presbyterian Church in Las Vegas, New Mexico from 1926 to 1949.

Mrs. Kohn attended Leavenworth Schools, Columbia University in New York, Denver University and the University of California, where she studied music.

In 1894 while in Chicago, she married Charles L. Kohn. Charles died in 1913. In 1920 she married Joseph L. Kohn, who died in 1946
