Christian Schubert was a business owner in Alma, Kansas. He owned a Gun & Machine Shop at 401 Missouri Street. Sunday, September 28, 1885 that night he left Pierce and Hanson saloon in Kansas City, he was on his way home supposedly with $400.00 and a gold watch. He was found the next morning with a bullet hole in his chest on the Kaw River Bridge between Wyandette and Kansas City, Kansas. It was told that he had been followed by two men.
