Mr. S. P. "Pete" Daniel Cobb, 79, of Cedartown, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2009. He was born May 20, 1929, in Polk County, the son of Claude W. and Gussie M. Cobb. He was a member of the West Rome Church of God. He retired from Goodyear after 40 years of service. He is survived by his son, Dennis Wayne Cobb, and daughter and son-in-law, Shelia Ann and Larry Wells; two grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Sisters, Elise Cobb Hicks, Ruby Cobb Swafford, Betty Cobb Spikes, all of Cedartown; brother, Charles Fred Cobb, of Dothan, Ala., and Phil Cobb, of Cedartown also survive. He is preceded in death by parents, Claude W. Cobb and Gussie M. Harrison Cobb; brothers, William Luther Cobb, John Calvin Cobb; sisters, Mary Cobb Puckett, Lola Cobb Squires. The graveside service was conducted on Friday, May 15, at 4 p.m., at Polk Memory Gardens with Dr. Jerry Buttrum officiating. Pallbearers were Larry Wells, Jeff Dingler, Trey Brown, and Ron Casey. The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
