EMMETT ID.- Volentine (Vol) Brogan, 80, Emmett, died Thursday evening at
the home of his daughter following a short illness. Mr. Brogan was born on
Aug. 27, 1889, at Thomas County, Kan. He lived there until moving to Emmett in
1935,where he since had resided. He married Maggie Gates on Oct.30 1912, at
Smith Center Kan. She died Feb 24 1961.
Survivors.. include a son, Elmer Brogan, and a daughter, Mrs. Ester Martin,
both of Emmett; three brothers, Emery Brogan of Emmett, Edgar Brogan of
Meridian and Fred Brogan of New Plymouth; two sisters, Maude Glass of Richmond,
Calif., and Hazel Martin of Emmett; four grandchildren and six great
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Beatty Chapel by the Rev.
Joseph Conklin of the First Christian Church. Interment Will be at Emmett.
