Anchorage resident Hazel Fern Martin, 94, died Oct. 1 at her son's Anchorage home. A funeral was conducted at Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett, Idaho. A visitation was held at the Bragaw Chapel of Witzleben Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.

Mrs. Martin was born May 1, 1899, in Smith County, Kan. She was a resident of Idaho for 73 years until she moved to Anchorage in 1990 to live with her son and his family. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, crocheting and canning, for which she was recognized at the Idaho state and county fairs. Her church was important to her. She enjoyed reading the Bible and taught Sunday school for 20 years. Mrs. Martin was predeceased by her husband, George, who died in 1988.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Delbert and Ruth of Anchorage, Guy of Emmett, Idaho; her daughters, Wanda Warner of Skagway and Georgia Ann Owen of Hudson, Wisc.; 18 grandchildren and 29 great- grandchildren. Burial was in the Emmett Cemetery, Emmett, Idaho.
