Samuel A. Colly, 70, died Monday, December 11, 2006 at his home in NC. SSgt. Colly was a USMC veteran of Vietnam, with over 19 years of dedicated service. Sam was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Havelock, NC, an aircraft electrician with NADEP, past President of FRA #141, member of Havelock VFW, where he was president of Cooties, member of American Legion Post 0038 of Dundalk, MD, and coach of Havelock Little League and Pop Warner leagues for many years. He was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather. Sam is survived by his wife, June Helms Colly, daughters, Mary M. Colly and fiance Joven, of McKinney, TX; Tina Marie Colly and husband Michael, of Denton, TX; sons, Samuel A. Colly, Jr. of Havelock, NC; Joseph Charles Colly and wife Karen, of Midlothian, VA; and his grandchildren Geno, Emily, Joshua, Halle, Taylor, Kendall, and Jackson. Private family services. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
