Veteran of Confederate States Army. Member of the Robert E Lee Camp #158. Enlisted in Company A, 41st Tennessee Regiment, Hardee's Brigade. As Captain of the company, he was in charge of Fort at Bowling Green and later was at Fort Donaldson under Gen. Pillow. POW Camp Chase, Ohio. Exchanged at Vicksburg and discharged because of ill health. He later rejoined and was Quartermaster until close of war.
