Barbara Shively passed away on Sunday night in Wayne, NJ. She was 78. Barbara graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. She was a Technical Documentation Editor, later Managing Editor, for The Geological Society of America (GSA) publication programs for many years. In 1965 she married Dr. Richard R. Shively of the Technical Staff of Bell Laboratories.(he preceded her in death) A member of the Woman's History Project, she was the author of the biography of Geraldine Rockefeller Dodge in the book, Past and Promise, Lives of New Jersey Women, published in hardcover in 1990 and later in paperback. A member of the Morris Choral Society for many years, she served in many functions on the Board of Directors. She is survived by her daughter and her son, grandchildren and a sister.
