OBITUARY
Elizabeth Esther Hines was born in Highland County, Ohio, Oct. 6, 1830 and died Nov. 25, 1907, aged 77 years 1 month and 19 days. She was united in marriage to Lindley Calvin Hines, June 1, 1850. Sixteen children were born to this union, nine of whom remain to mourn their loss. Her husband preceded her to the better world Mar. 2, 1900. She united with the Methodist Episcopal church at the age of twelve years, and lived a consistent Christian life until her death. While we sorrow for her, we rest in the assurance that our loss is her eternal gain. She made the precious promises of the gospel her own, and during her recent illness expressed a firm conviction that she would soon be safely housed with her Lord and Master, who "giveth His beloved sleep."
