Edwin Gibbs

Edwin Winfield Gibbs was born on November 12, 1870, at Hubbardston, Iona County, Michigan. He moved with his parents to Webster City, Iowa and shortly afterward to Stratford, Iowa. Then, they moved to Polk County, Nebraska and in 1884 they moved to Custer County, Nebraska. In 1917 he took up a homestead in Hooker County, Nebraska where, the following year, he was married to Mable M Upton. Eight years later after their marriage, the moved to California, residing most of the time near Oceanside. In 1931, they returned to Nebraska, residing since then at North Platte, Nebraska.
He leaves to mourn besides his widow, 3 sons and 1 daughter, Charles, Lucy, Melvin, and Warren Gibbs, all at home, also one brother Melvin A. Gibbs of Broken Bow, 2 sisters, Eugelia Kuykendall of San Bernardino, California, and Lucy Jones of Overton, Nebraska, also 3 nephews and 4 nieces.
