Solomon's father was Henry Shriver. Solomon married Margaret "Maggie" Tederick on the 4th of Aug 1832 in Morgan Co. [West] Virginia. Solomon & Maggie had 9 children, including Tene "Tenie" Ann Shriver Wood.

Marriage bond:
"MORGAN COUNTY, to wit: Know all Men by these Presents, that we Solomon Shriver and George Tederick are held and firmly bound unto his Excellency John Floyd Esquire, Governor of Virginia (for the time being) and his successors, in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, for the payment whereof, well and truly to be made to the said Governor, or his successors, for the use of the Commonwealth, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated this 4th day of August 1832. THE CONDITION of the above obligation is such, that whereas a marriage is shortly intended to be had and solemnized between the said Solomon Shriver and Margaret Tederick of this county. Now If there is no lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage, then the above obligation to be void, else to remain in full force and virtue. Signed, sealed and delivered in presense of Solomon Shriver [signature] George Tederick Jr. [signature]."

Obituary
Martinsburg Herald, [Berkeley Co. WV] - Oakton, Sat. Dec 30, 1893 - " Quite a large crowd attended the funeral of Mr. Solomon Shriver on last Monday. He was a very old man, born April 11, 1806, died December 10, 1893, age 87 years, 7 months, 29 days. The funeral was preached by Rev. J.F. Snyder, and was very impressive, the bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire family."
