Ernestine Maxine Alt, 73, Dillwyn, and formerly of Harrisonburg, died Thursday night, May 20,
1999, at Heritage Hall, Dillwyn, where she had been a resident for the past 16 years.
Mrs. Alt was born on Jan. 26, 1926, in Broadway, and was the daughter of the late Lela Frances Shirkey.
She worked for a short time for Troy Laundry in Harrisonburg before becoming disabled.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Alt.
Surviving are two daughters, Debra Elizabeth Morris, Harrisonburg, and Charlene Gayle Riley, Mississippi; a son, Charles Henry Alt Jr., Harrisonburg; and several
grandchildren.
The Rev. Richard Kerfoot will conduct a graveside service at 3 p.m. Monday at the Linville Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Broadway.
