TOVEY MINER DIES TODAY
FUNERAL TO BE HELD SUNDAY AFTERNOON

James H. Bandfield, 81, Tovey miner, a resident of Taylorville and South Fork Communities for the past thirty-five years, died this morning, April 4, 1947, in St. Vincent Hospital, where he had been a patient since Monday. Mr. Banfield has been ill for the last two years.
A native of Kentucky, he was born in Rush County on January 27, 1866, a son of William and Martha Lucas Banfield. He was married to Lennie Secoy Taylor on February 5, 1911 in West Virginia. He had been employed as a machine operator at Peabody mine No. 1 at Kincaid. He was a member of the Latter Day Saints Church and the United Mine Workers of America.
Surviving are his wife, four sons, William of Taylorville, George, James Jr., and Harold all of Tovey and two daughters Mrs. Marie (Martha) Newman of Tovey and Mrs. Mildred Fecho of Jeisyville. He also leaves four step children, Mrs. Blanche Stewart of Tovey and Ben and Ralph Taylor of Buchtel, Onio and Herbert Taylor of Tovey.; one sister, Mrs. Mamie Hutchinson of Athens, Ohio, and two brothers; George Banfield of Portsmouth Ohio, and Henry Banfield of Athens, Ohio.
The body was removed to the Abel Funeral Home and will be taken to the residence in Tovey. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Local Latter Day Saints church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.
