Vallie Barlow, 75, 248 Big Cove Creek Road, Roan Mountain, died Wednesday, January 5, 2000, at Cannon Memorial Hospital, Linville, N.C.
Mrs. Barlow was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Dave and Lillie Barnett Henson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Grady Barlow, who died January 3, 2000, two brothers, Pierce Henson and Ford Henson, and a grandson, Anthony Dunn.
Mrs. Barlow was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Wilma Dunn, Roan Mountain; four sons and four daughters-in-law, Roy and Susie Barlow, Deep Gap, N.C., Glen and Ann Barlow, Ben and Hester Barlow and Jack and Pat Barlow, all of Roan Mountain; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Edith Gouge and Mae and Denver Garland, all of Roan Mountain; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bruce Henson and Herman and June Henson, all of Roan Mountain. Six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Vallie Barlow, 75, 248 Big Cove Creek Road, Roan Mountain, who died Wednesday, were conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, January 7 at Cove Creek Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dan Blevins and Rev. Mark Birchfield officiating. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cove Creek Presbyterian Church.
Joint graveside services for Vallie and Grady Barlow were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Barlow Family Cemetery, Roan Mountain.
Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.
