Harold W. Abbott

Harold W. Abbott, 87, of Reedsville passed away Thursday, May 6, 2004, at Arcadia Nursing Home in Coolville.

He was born Aug. 22, 1916, in Cheshire, Ohio, to the late Sterlie and Edith Herrmann Abbott.

He was a truck driver for most his life and was a member of the Vanderhoof Baptist Church and attended the Torch Baptist Church.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Doris Abbott of Reedsville; grandchildren, David (Sonya) Abbott of Belpre and Bobbi Abbott of Coolville; great-grandchildren, Richie White, Monika Abbott and Cortney Thomas; one brother, Lawrence Abbott of Casagrande, Ariz.; two sisters, Gertrude (Bud) Stewart of Pomeroy, Ohio, and Virginia Wears of Pomeroy; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Willetta Abbott; and a brother, Martin Abbott.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Chesire, Ohio. Officiating will be the Rev. Basil Atkinson.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the Fisher Funeral Home in Pomeroy.
