EARLY COUNTY MUSIC TEACHER DIES WEDNESDAY - August 7, 1963
Mrs. Nancy Edmondson, a pioneer resident of the Salt Fork community and an early day music teacher in that area, died in St. Joseph's Hospital in Wellington, Texas on Wednesday July 31 after a short illness. She was 88.
Mrs. Edmondson left here many years ago and lived at Des Moines, New Mexico and Perryton, Texas before returning to Wellington three years ago to enter the Thomas Nursing Home.
She was a sister of the late T. B. Starkey, and an aunt of Oran Starkey, Bert Starkey, and the late Charley Starkey.
Mrs. Edmondson was born on October 3, 1874 in Montague county. She was married to Frank P. Edmondson at Des Moines, New Mexico with the Baptist minister officiating.
Kelso Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include four step-children: Phil Edmondson of Clayton, New Mexico; Jack Edmondson of Des Moines, New Mexico, Frank Edmondson of Van Nuys, California; and Mrs. Mary Grover of Rifle, Colorado. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
