CALLIS, John -{from Hiwasse} John Callis was hit and killed by an automobile one day last week. John was born and raised here spent most of his life here. He has 3 children in California and he made his home there for the past 3 years and was there at the time of his death. His body was brought back here last Sunday and funeral services were conducted in the Christian Church by Rev. Ingold Sunday afternoon. Interment was made in Mount Pleasant cemetery. Mr. Callis was knocked down by an automobile and died shortly afterwards without regaining consciousness. Funeral services were held for him at the Christan Church in Hiwasse Sunday morning.
