Mr. Samuel B. Arbogast, aged 80, is dead at his home at Earlysville, this county, following an attack of paralysis, He was born in Pendleton County. (Virginia) W. Va., and entered the service of the Confederacy with his father, the late William Arbogast. as a member of Company E, Twenty-fifth Virginia Regiment. He was wounded at the battle of McDowell, but later connected himself with Company A, Eighteenth Virginia Cavalry. In which he served until the close of the war. He married Miss Barbara Harper, to which union there were born fifteen children, fourteen of whom survive. Mr. and Mrs. Arbogast left Pendleton County thirty-three years ago and for thirty-one years lived in Fluvanna County, only two years ago moving to Albemarle.
