Born June 10, 1918, in Erie, Pennsylvania, he was a son of Grace Gailing Wilson, and the late Robert Hines.
Mr. Hines was a resident of Zanesville for 44 years and was a tool and die worker by trade, and a supervisor with United Technologies for 11 years.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, [and] a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 302 and American Legion.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife, the former Twila Slater whom he married December 7, 1938; two daughters, Mrs. Joe (Mary Ann) Graham, and Mrs. Earl (Ina) Ruby, both of Zanesville; two sons, Richard Hines of Leeds, AL; Jack Hines of Oxford, AL; a brother, Robert Hines of Virginia Beach, VA; three half-sisters, Mrs. Tony (Madeline) Laparie of Independence, MO; Mary Lou Trippi of Denver, CO; Geraldine Horton of Lake Tahoe, NV; a half-brother, George Wilson Jr. of California; and 15 grandchildren.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM today at Bolin Funeral Home where services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, with one member of the congregation of the Jehovah Witnesses officiating. Burial will be in Norwich Cemetery.
