Death of Hannah Damme.

Hannah Damme, the twelve-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. H. Damme, died at the home of her parents in Lorton last Saturday morning, May 13th, after only a few days' illness with spinal meningitis. She attended school on Monday and was down town Tuesday, apparently in her usual health and spirits. She was then suddenly stricken with the dreadful malady, and while loving hands and skilled medical attendants devoted ever attention and their best endeavor, there was but one way - death conquered, even before the seriousness of her condition could be fully comprehended.

The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the McWilliams German Evangelical church, Rev. C. Eller preaching the sermon. Interment was made in the McWilliams cemetery. A large crowd was in attendance at the funeral, and there was a profusion of beautiful floral offerings. The Lorton school was closed Monday and the business houses closed during the services as a tribute of respect to the departed one.

Hannah was a bright, lovable girl, a favorite with all and had many, many friends, and her untimely taking away brought deepest sorrow to many hearts. All sympathy is extended to the bereaved family.
