Joe Jenkins Osgatharp was born to Virgil and Valla Jo (Jenkins) Osgatharp May 9, 1925 in Jackson County, Tennessee. He passed away November 13, 2009 in his home in Bryant after a lengthy illness.

He and his wife of 50 years, Wyona Stewart, were married June 21, 1959 in Forrest City.

He served in the Navy on the USS New Orleans in the Pacific during WW II. He spent a large part of his career with Philco/Ford at NASA during the Apollo Space Program and retired from Orbit Valve in Little Rock.

In addition to his wife, he leaves to mourn his passing, a son, Mark (Janet) Osgathrap of Wynne; daughters, JoAnna (Reinhard) Schneider of Pennsylvania and Barbara (Bret) Aldridge of Bryant; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, Roy Osgatharp.

Services will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the the Funeral Home Chapel with visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m.

A committal service will be on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
