SERVICES SET AT ELIZABETH
Pvt. A. A. Klepack Killed In 1944 in France

Elizabeth, Ill. - Funeral services for Pvt. Alvin Anthony Klepack, son of Mrs. Frank Koechner, of Hanover and Elizabeth, who was killed in 1944 in France, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic church, with the Rev. Paul A. Tuchlinsky, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery at Hanover, with military rites conducted by the Toms-Reusch-Allen post of the American Legion, Elizabeth. The body arrived Friday night. It was taken to the Banwarth funeral home and, Saturday morning, to the mothers's home, where it will remain until the services. Alvin Anthony Klepack, the son of Stephen and Hazel (Keenan) Klepack, was born at Scales Mound, Ill., March 22, 1921. He spent his early life in the vicinity of Hanover and Elizabeth, where he received his schooling, and was employed at the Savanna Ordnance depot prior to his induction into the infantry on November 30, 1942. After training in this country for about 18 months, he sailed for Europe in May, 1944, and about three months later was killed near St. Serven, France. He died of Shrapnel wounds on Aug. 10, 1944. He leaves his mother; two brothers, Francis J. Klepack and Stephen Klepack, both of Elizabeth; two sisters, Mrs. Ardith Schultz, of Galena, and Mrs. Alice Trautwein, of Hanover, and other relatives.
